- 12/09/2015: Informal seminar about the (JL)EIC accelerator design:
- Announcement: On Dec. 9, at 1:30 p.m. there will be an unique opportunity to learn more about the accelerator design for a proposed Electron Ion Collider at JLab (JLEIC, formally known as MEIC). Vasiliy Morozov, Slava Derbenev, and Yuhong Zhang will give a brief overview about the design and will be available for questions. The question time on the JLEIC accelerator design is intended for everyone interested in the (JL)EIC project.

- by comparing the 50GeV proton and neutron acceptance, I think we can keep both dipole1 and dipole2 align to electron beamline and don't shift dipole2 horizontally as shown in i_ds_dipole1align_dipole2align_dipole2Noshift
- some details: dipole1 tilt -0.05299800449rad, dipole2 tilt -0.02799800449rad, dipole2 shift 10cm outward horizontally

- Update to RICH Optics concept: I attach a modified drawing of naive RICH optics. One critical parameter is the maximal radius of a track at the downstream end of the coil (z=2.4 m). I took this radius to be 1.0 m. Starting with the coil radius of 1.5 m, I subtracted 35 cm for the calorimeter and 15 cm total for TOF and DIRC. Are these values consistent with your design? In this design, the radius of curvature of the Mirror is 3.120 m. The center of curvature of each mirror is at z = 1.040 m and r_Perp = 0.945 m (I would guess we would have 8 mirrors, but maybe 12. This will probably be driven by the segmentation of Bar-Boxes for the DIRC). The downstream face of the photo sensor array is at z = 2.600 m, with inner radius 1.083 m and outer radius 1.561 m. I also made the inner radius of the RICH smaller, since the electron quad cannot interfere with the BSC of the ion beam, I took the inner angular range of the RICH could be 45 mr (with some cutout in the horizontal plane for the ion beam).
