- Tanja HornAugust 22, 2022At the request of the GD/I WG added explicitly space for an inner MPGD barrel tracker. Additional detail:
In the ECCE geometry table, the two barrel muRWell trackers (R=33, 51 cm) are lumped with the silicon tracker as 'Inner Tracker' extending from R=3-51 cm, plus a detector-free space from R=51-60 cm (low mass BdL region for enhancing low momentum tracking)
In the 24-June-2022 EPIC geometry table [https://eic.jlab.org/Geometry/Detector/Detector-20220624102507.html], silicon tracker extends from R=3-45.9cm. Nonetheless, there is a detector-free space from R=45.9-63 cm
The current simulation campaign setup include one muRWell layer at R=51 cm too. And I agree it is prudent to leave the space to allow inner MPGD barrel tracker, if the tracking study find them needed. - References
